Revelation Matrix / Institutional Standards
Editorial Standards
The standards governing evidence, investigation, interpretation, biblical prophecy, disputed claims, corrections and intellectual accountability at Revelation Matrix.
Revelation Matrix investigates difficult and controversial subjects. That makes evidential discipline more important, not less. A compelling thesis never outranks the evidence required to support it.
Our Editorial Standard
Investigate First. Interpret Second.
Revelation Matrix exists to investigate the intersection of documentary evidence, emerging systems and biblical prophecy without allowing the desired conclusion to determine the evidence.
The Governing Rule
A modern development must first be understood on its own terms: what happened, what exists, what was proposed, what was deployed, who said what, what powers actually exist and what the relevant documentation establishes.
Only then should the investigation ask what the development may mean and whether it has legitimate theological or prophetic significance.
Evidence establishes the modern facts. Interpretation explains their possible meaning. Scripture governs the prophetic analysis. Those are related tasks, but they are not interchangeable.
Core Principles
Four Rules Before Publication
A Revelation Matrix investigation should remain useful even when the strongest version of its original thesis does not survive scrutiny.
Primary Evidence First
Consequential claims should be traced toward original documents, records, laws, technical material, statements or other originating evidence whenever reasonably possible.
Understand the System
Technologies and institutions should be analysed according to their actual architecture, powers, limitations and documented operation.
Test the Counterargument
Material capable of materially weakening the preferred conclusion should be considered rather than omitted because it is inconvenient.
Label Interpretation
Analysis, inference, theological interpretation and speculation must not be presented as though they were documented empirical facts.
Investigative Framework
The Blackwood Method
The standard investigative sequence deliberately places evidence, system architecture and counterargument before prophetic interpretation.
The conclusion is the end of the investigation. It is not the starting instruction.
Analytical Safeguards
Reverse Proof Methodology & the Scaffolding Principle
These two methods help prevent investigations into power, institutions and historical systems from outrunning the evidence.
Reverse Proof Methodology
Where possible, begin with what the institution itself has documented.
This may include legislation, charters, regulations, technical specifications, patents, financial records, official reports, archived speeches, treaties, institutional websites, policy documents and original theological material.
The investigation then works outward from the documentary record toward broader claims concerning capability, motive, coordination or prophetic significance.
Institutional documentation is not assumed to be infallible. It is simply a stronger starting point than an unsupported allegation.
The Scaffolding Principle
Historical institutions may establish structural precedents later reused by very different systems.
Hierarchy, territorial administration, identification, financial controls, credentialled authority, record keeping, centralisation or institutional conformity can therefore be studied as historical scaffolding.
Structural similarity does not, by itself, prove continuous secret coordination.
Revelation Matrix must distinguish documented continuity, structural inheritance, historical analogy and speculative connection.
Evidence Classification
Readers Should Be Able to See What Kind of Claim Is Being Made
Revelation Matrix uses explicit language to prevent documentation, inference, disagreement and prophecy from being collapsed into a single category.
The underlying event, statement, document, system, policy or institutional position can be established.
The underlying evidence exists, but a reasoned interpretation is being applied to what that evidence means.
Credible disagreement exists concerning the evidence, chronology, meaning or conclusion.
A claim has been identified, but sufficient independent evidence has not yet been established.
A reasoned analytical judgement made by Leo Blackwood from the evidence and system architecture examined.
A theological interpretation concerning the meaning or application of a biblical text.
A modern development is being considered in relation to biblical prophecy or a prophetic structure described in Scripture.
A possibility is being explored where the available evidence does not justify a stronger conclusion.
Source Discipline
How Sources Are Treated
The seriousness of a claim should influence the level of evidence required to publish it.
Original material is preferred.
Where available, consequential claims should be traced toward laws, regulations, reports, technical documentation, financial records, patents, speeches, filings, research papers, treaties, charters or other originating evidence.
Useful for context, not a substitute for the underlying record.
Journalism, books, commentary and specialist analysis can provide valuable context and interpretation. Where the original source is available, however, it should normally be consulted rather than relying solely on another writer’s description of it.
Handled cautiously.
Anonymous claims may sometimes justify further investigation, but anonymity weakens independent verification. A serious allegation should not be elevated to established fact merely because an unidentified source asserted it.
Authenticity and context must be examined.
A leaked document may be genuine, fabricated, altered, incomplete or stripped of relevant context. Provenance and independent corroboration matter.
Archived copies may preserve the historical record.
Where a public document or webpage has disappeared, reputable web archives, cached material or contemporaneous copies may be used where their provenance can be reasonably established.
A post is evidence of a post, not necessarily of the claim inside it.
Screenshots and social posts require context. Where possible, the original account, publication date and underlying source should be identified.
Editorial Distinction
Reporting Is Not Analysis. Analysis Is Not Prophecy.
Readers should be able to distinguish what happened from what Blackwood thinks it means and from how it may relate to Scripture.
What can be established?
Documents, events, statements, institutional positions, technical capabilities, historical facts and other evidence capable of independent examination.
What might the evidence mean?
Blackwood may analyse patterns, incentives, structures, implications, contradictions and likely consequences. That analysis should be identifiable as analysis.
How might this relate to Scripture?
Theological and prophetic interpretation must arise from the biblical text rather than merely attaching prophecy terminology to a modern development.
Counterarguments
The Strongest Objection Belongs Inside the Investigation
Revelation Matrix should not manufacture weak opposing arguments merely to make the preferred thesis appear stronger.
Where credible evidence or expert interpretation materially challenges a Blackwood conclusion, that challenge should be represented fairly enough for the reader to understand it.
This does not require false equivalence. A fringe objection does not receive equal weight simply because it exists. But a serious counterargument should not disappear because it is inconvenient.
If an argument cannot survive the strongest reasonable objection, it is not yet ready for publication as a confident conclusion.
Institutional Religious Investigations
Investigate Systems Without Attacking Ordinary Believers
The Religious Matrix examines institutional architecture, hierarchy, power, finance and authority. It is not a licence for hostility toward ordinary people because of their religious identity.
Religious Matrix Editorial Standard
Institutional claims must be supported by documentary evidence appropriate to the claim being made.
A doctrine should be represented from authoritative theological sources rather than caricatured through hostile secondary commentary.
Institutional conduct should be distinguished from the beliefs or behaviour of every member of that religion.
Roman Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Jewish, Islamic, ecumenical, interfaith and other institutions are subject to the same evidential rules where relevant.
Historical structural parallels may be investigated without automatically asserting uninterrupted conspiracy.
Biblical interpretations involving Mystery Babylon, the False Prophet or Revelation 13 and 17–18 must remain identifiable as theological interpretation unless the underlying claim can independently be established.
Editorial Independence
Commercial Relationships Must Not Determine Conclusions
Revelation Matrix may develop books, memberships, reader support, direct sales, media projects, research products and other commercial activity. That does not change the evidential standard.
Material conflicts should be disclosed where relevant.
A financial, commercial, personal or organisational relationship capable of reasonably affecting the reader’s assessment of an investigation should not be concealed.
Payment does not purchase an editorial conclusion.
Commercial arrangements, sponsorship or advertising must not determine how evidence is interpreted or whether a legitimate counterargument is omitted.
Support does not purchase agreement.
Donations, memberships or other reader-support mechanisms must not provide a supporter with control over investigative conclusions or editorial judgement.
Corrections & Updates
Accuracy Includes Correcting the Record
Revelation Matrix investigations may be updated when new evidence emerges or when an error is identified.
A factual correction should not be resisted simply because the original error supported the argument.
Where a correction materially changes an investigation’s conclusion, the analysis should be reconsidered accordingly.
Scope of Application
One Editorial Standard Across Five Matrices
These standards apply across every canonical Revelation Matrix research domain. No Matrix receives a lower evidential threshold because its subject matter is controversial, theological or difficult to verify.
